Give Your Business a Financial Checkup at This Upcoming Seminar Series

August 21, 2018

Do you want to free up the “hidden money” in your business?

Are you confused about the reports your accountant gives you? Or do you have a hard time generating the reports that your banker asks of your business?

Focus on Financial Management Small Business Course

Join GrowMidMo in September for Focus on Financial Management, a three-part course to develop your business financial skills. Don’t worry—we’ll explain this so you can understand the concepts without having a business or accounting degree.

Focus on Financial Management is $97 and will take place on three Fridays in September: 14, 21, and 28 at Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation training room at 115 N Williams in downtown Moberly, MO. The class runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The fee includes training materials. Register today: the payment and registration deadline is September 12 at 5 p.m. You may pay by cash or check at the office, or pay online with a card here.

Objectives of Each Session

During part one on September 14, Understanding Your Financial Statements, you will:

  • Identify key information on a Profit/Loss Statement (aka Income Statement) and a Balance Sheet.

  • Calculate basic financial ratios and understand what they mean to your productivity and success. (Most business owners have money hiding here that they don’t realize. Let’s find it!)

  • Examine financial documents to drive better business decisions.

During part two on September 21, Analyzing and Managing Your Cash Flow, you will:

  • Recognize where cash comes from and where it goes by using a Statement of Cash Flows.

  • Identify and correct cash flow problems.

  • Develop a budget for capital purchases (such as equipment).

During part three on September 28, Predicting Your Company’s Cash Needs, you will:

  • Use a cash budget to prepare for future business needs.

  • Estimate future sources and uses of cash to face tomorrow with hope.

  • Analyze financial predictions to make more informed decisions as you grow.

  • Prepare to make confident and realistic requests to bankers and/or investors, if needed.

Just like you go to the doctor to check your physical health, sign up today to put your business through a financial checkup. You’ll be glad you did! Register online here or call our office at 660.263.8811.
