GrowMidMo/MAEDC Announce Several Small Business Classes for January & February 2019

December 12, 2018

As a new year approaches, many people who have dreamed about owning a business, expanding their current business, or selling a business to new owners take action on their ideas. Local classes are available to help people accomplish their business goals.

GrowMidMo, the entrepreneurship development program of Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation (MAEDC), will offer several training events in January and February 2019. These classes range in topics from starting from scratch or purchasing a franchise, to business taxes and financial management, to a vision-casting and goal-setting workshop.

“Our training events provide an opportunity for current and future small business owners to learn practical skills, network with each other, and receive encouragement to reach their goals,” said Ryan Eidson, GrowMidMo Program Administrator and MAEDC Entrepreneurship Specialist.

GrowMidMo held 15 training classes in 2018. Participants provided excellent feedback from those classes. Their input, as well as the needs of the business community, helped determine what classes to offer in 2019. Eidson will teach many of the classes, while guest speakers will provide subject matter expertise for a few of the training events.

“We had some very good classes in 2018,” said Eidson. “Focus on Financial Management is a great course, and I am teaching it again this winter. We have also added some new classes that Missouri entrepreneurs will find very beneficial. Participants from downtown retail establishments, service businesses, manufacturers, and other industry segments are all welcome to register for these trainings.”

GrowMidMo classes allow participants to explore new opportunities, enhance their businesses, and extend their leadership. The lineup for the next two months of classes is as follows:

All of these events will take place at the MAEDC training room at 115 N Williams in downtown Moberly. Preregistration is required. For more information and to register for these classes, go to https://www.growmidmo.com/calendar or call 660-263-8811.
