According to Junior Achievement, 91% of young people wish they had greater access to entrepreneurial education programs. In addition, the new workforce of the 21st century will require everyone to think like an entrepreneur.

What if we brought students in the area together for a day of practical training, networking, and business coaching?

That's what we will do in the inaugural Youth Entrepreneur Summit!

Date: Wednesday, February 13, 2019, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Location: Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation (MAEDC), 115 N Williams, in downtown Moberly

Cost: $10/person, includes catered lunch and materials (let us know of any special dietary needs)

Registration Deadline: February 6 at 5 p.m.

The Youth Entrepreneur Summit will assemble high school and college student entrepreneurs for a high-energy day of encouragement and support in their ventures. Students will:

  • hear from local business owners in various industries about their stories,

  • collaborate with like-minded peers,

  • discover new business tools and techniques,

  • learn about available programs and services from Missouri SBDC to help them achieve their business goals,

  • and more!

Participants will have the opportunity to apply for a spotlight session to receive live customized coaching in a “hot seat” format. Students will also learn about available programs and services to help them with their business goals.

This event is open to high school and college students who live or study in the Missouri SBDC region of Chariton, Howard, Linn, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Pike, Ralls, Randolph, and Shelby Counties. Students should either be active in business, have a viable business idea they are actively exploring, or have a strong desire to become an entrepreneur in any industry sector (agriculture, construction, manufacturing, retail, or service).
